The "Hattrling Method" is a technique that utilizes the weight of the blocks and the backfill soil on top of the blocks to suppress the uplift of manholes. This method can be applied not only to existing manholes in urban areas, which are significantly affected by uplift, but also to newly installed manholes. Geosynthetics Liquefaction Deformation Suppression Method (SECURE-G Method)

Safe Manhole VD Method for Suppressing Manhole Uplift Due to Liquefaction Phenomenon

Install the drain and secure the vibrator inside the manhole. By vibrating the manhole structure and compacting the surrounding ground, enhance the uplift resistance.

The Anshin Manhole VD Method is a technique that suppresses the floating of manholes caused by liquefaction phenomena through drainage and vibration functions. After installing a drain equipped with a filter and excess pore water pressure dissipation device at the low base of the manhole, a vibration machine is fixed inside the manhole to vibrate the manhole structure, thereby enhancing the resistance to floating by compacting the surrounding ground. 【Applications】 ● Seismic reinforcement of existing manholes 【Features】 ● Non-excavation: It is possible to drill from inside the manhole to the bottom without drawing in groundwater or soil, allowing for the installation of filters. ● Maintenance-free: By drawing water from the bottom of the manhole against the buoyancy generated by liquefaction, it efficiently suppresses excess pore water pressure. ● It is safe as it is maintenance-free even if excess pore water pressure occurs due to aftershocks. ● Ground improvement through vibration: By vibrating the manhole body and compacting the surrounding ground, ground improvement is achieved.
